It's hard to believe, August 40 years ago we were all stressed out of our brains studying for final matriculation exams. The culmination of 12 or 13 years of education preparing us brave souls to be let loose on this big scary world. And most of us survived that stress, got through the exams, cut loose in November, enjoyed uni or whatever came after the regimented years at Balwyn High, got jobs, started families, and here we are... 40 years on! What better time to start blogging it all out?!

Belle Vue PS Reunion
Received an email today from Cheryl Davenport (FriendsReunited site) telling of a reunion for former Belle Vue PS alumni. And it's (gasp) for a 50 year reunion!

BELLE VUE PRIMARY SCHOOL 50 Years On . . Still Going Strong!
Our Golden Jubilee Celebration will be held on Sunday 21st October 2007 from 1.00pm – 4.00pm!
All former staff and students are warmly invited to attend an afternoon of activities, demonstrations, roll call, afternoon tea, open classrooms, entertainment and memorabilia!

I know most of us in the BHS class of '67 likely came from North Balwyn PS (Maud Street), and in fact I spent one year there (but actually was in two classes, "bubs" as we vividly called it for one day, then a quick graduation to first grade for the rest of my first year - see above pic Grade 1B, 1956).

Sorry to all I've not recognised and/or got wrong, but this is stream of consciousness stuff to get the ball rolling. I think we also had a Helen (Heather) Grey, Lorel Smith and Wayne ?. We can settle any disputes with DNA fingerprinting using blood embedded in the macadamised playground from cut knees and elbows.

OK here's some more "guesses". 2=Malcolm White (or is he #46?), 8=Bruce Smith, 45=Rodney McQueen.
